Product Description
Daily chemical grade hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is a synthetic polymer prepared from natural cellulose by chemical modification. Cellulose ether is a derivative of natural cellulose, cellulose ether production is different from synthetic polymers, its basic material is cellulose, a natural high molecular compound. Due to the special structure of natural cellulose, cellulose itself does not have the ability to react with etherifying agents. However, after the treatment of swelling agent, the strong hydrogen bond between and within the molecular chain is destroyed, and the activity of the hydroxyl group is released into a reactive alkali cellulose, which is converted from an OH group to an OR group through the reaction of etherifying agent to obtain cellulose ether.
Daily chemical grade special hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is a white or slightly yellow powder, and odorless, tasteless, non-toxic. It can dissolve in the solvent mixed with cold water and organic matter to form a transparent viscous solution. Aqueous solution has surface activity, high transparency, strong stability, dissolution in water is not affected by pH. It has thickening and anti-freezing effect in shampoo and shower gel, and has water retention and good film formation for hair and skin. With the substantial increase in basic raw materials, cellulose (anti-freeze thickening agent) used in shampoo and body wash can greatly reduce the cost and still achieve the desired effect.
